roundpen buckout by Elke

I bought an ex-bucking horse that was tired of bucking, or so we thought. My 16-year old daughter was in love with his looks. He was red with a blaze, and an excellent build. We put quite some time on him on the ground and he seemed very smart. After riding him a few times, we put him in a roundpen near a rodeo arena. He worked well on one side. When I tried turning him and working him in the other direction, he panicked. He saw fence on both sides and had a flashback. He got out of control and I was bucked off hard. I was wearing a helmet - just in case. When I landed, my helmet hit the ground with the back of my head. Had I not worn one, I would have been in the hospital. I was able to get up and walk away.
