Another one bites the dust.... by Susan

We had just returned from a three hour ride. Reentering the parking lot at the State Park we had stepped over the 2" pipe and two steps down. The horses behind us clipped the pipe with a shoe and the clanging noise made my mare shy to the side, then as the horse jumped off the next step, my mare tucked under and surged forward. I rolled backwards off of her and caught a hoof in the face. When my head hit the ground it cracked my helmet. My face was split open at my mouth from the hoof, my hip, ribs, elbow and shoulder were bruised and swollen. The Doctor who put 15 stitches into my lip said I was saved by my Troxel helmet. I'll be back in the saddle again.... soon. Susan Black Santa Rosa, CA
